Planning a Vacation as a Solopreneur

One of the hardest things about working for yourself is scheduling some time away. Especially when you don't have a line of employees ready to take over your work while you are gone. Below are some tips that really have helped me in the past to keep the momentum of my business going while I'm on that week-long getaway.

Schedule your CONTENT:

This should be obvious, but some people enjoy not scheduling. Before taking a trip you want to make sure all your content is planned and automated so you don't have to worry about that in the middle of enjoying the views of the Grand Canyon.

What I Use to Schedule Content
Pinterest:
For Pinterest, I highly recommend Tailwind.
Instagram:
For Instagram, Later is my lifesaver, even allows me to save caption ideas, which saves a whole lot of time.
Facebook + Twitter:
These are not that important to me and my business but if it is to yours I recommend Buffer.
Blog:
This is probably the easiest as most blog sites and website platforms have the option to schedule when your post will go live.

don't feel ashamed to use an autoResponder

I personally can be a little obnoxious when it comes to emails and messages. I'm one of those I respond immediately sort of people. So the thought of something that could do that for me without me have to explain to each individual that I'm out on vacation and won't be able to attend them till I get back is really, truly, magical. So use your resources and set up that autoresponder to avoid that one client that always sends five emails at a time.

be considerate and inform frequent CONTACTS

This is just something I'm throwing in here, but really, if you have clients that are accustomed to you resolving things for them right away or you have any pressing matters or meetings let people know you won't be available for the next few days.
